NOA - Traditional Armenian wines.
A perfect combination of tradition and innovation!
NOA was founded to blend Armenia’s ancient winemaking traditions with modern practices. In partnership with one of oldest wine houses in Switzerland, NOA focuses on cultivating indigenous grape varieties in the Vayots Dzor region. At Noa, the team, including winemaker Pavel Vartanyan, cultivate indigenous grapes like Voskehat, Khatouni, and Areni in carefully selected, high-elevation sites. Their minimal-intervention, organic viticulture and winemaking processes create extraordinarily nuanced wines that taste strongly of their sense of place.
Come Over October is a national campaign created by wine journalist Karen MacNeil, Gino Colangelo and Kimberly Noelle Charles, encouraging wine lovers to invite friends, colleagues, and family to “come over” this month – to share some wine at home, in a restaurant, at an outdoor event, or wherever friends and family gather.
We are highlighting Mary Taylor wines once again this year. Mary works with with growers in Europe to make a streamlined and accessible line of wines which were handpicked by wine guru, Mary Taylor. "I created Mary Taylor Wine because I don’t think you should have to be a serious wine expert to experience the kind of honest, authentic wines that the Europeans have been enjoying for centuries."
Today is National Pancake Day, September 26th! Also known as Johnnycakes, griddle cakes or hotcakes, this batter-made breakfast item dates back more than 30,000 years. This food holiday's humble beginnings date back to 2005. Originally the observance started as Lumberjack Day. Marianne Ways and Collen AF Venable sought an excuse to eat pancakes with friends. Since it was one week after "Talk Like a Pirate Day" and that theme had been worn out, eating lots of pancakes like a lumberjack seemed a better holiday than ever.
The Bianchi Winery is the culmination of three generations’ dreams of creating wine in California. The long history began with Joseph Bianchi’s first foray into California winemaking in 1974 with an investment in a winery and vineyard on the banks of the San Joaquin River in the Central Valley of CA. There the Bianchi Wine quickly grew to become an industry leader, producing award-winning wines using the most advanced farming and production technologies. His son, Glenn Bianchi, worked to continue building upon that legacy with his own lifelong ambition of producing ultra-premium wines, searching throughout California to find the finest terroir to meet his high expectations and requirements, settling on 40 acres in beautiful Paso Robles in 2000.
