This Zinfandel is an excellent example of what Mountain Zinfandel can be...elegant, complex and lingering. Full of dark fruit, leather, white pepper and spices this Zinfandel is built to enjoy now or last for years.
Tasting Notes
On the nose, fruits of raspberry and blueberry provide a beautiful aroma. On the palate, red and blue berries, hints of spicy notes of espresso, faint vanilla and cinnamon, followed by an earthiness of dust and minerality (due to age of vines). The finish is unique with tannins and a complex structure not commonly found in Zinfandel.
Vineyard Notes
This wine comes from vines that Bob Brakesman first planted in 1973. They are old gnarly vines reaching far into the earth to extract beautiful flavors and aromas.
